The First Sonnet
The railroad runs alongside the road now
The dreamer, he dreams in concrete
of these many miles between him and her
Be something profound, he thinks, be something sweet
The memory of her beauty humbles him
As he stares at Indiana snow covered ground
Swings low sweet broken Mustang says a made up song
Coming for to carry me down and down
The telephone wires carries her soothing voice
Does it matter the places he that he can go
if he finds she's always in his head?
She's in his heart -- does she know?
They roll together on route 50
Something more than this -- something to see

The Second Sonnet
The day is born this morning
Everything is brand new once again
No need to think about yesterday
Or all the places you've never been
I don't care enough to look outside
Or to answer the ringing phone
For once, I don't care you're not here
I like being alone
I got all the coffee & cigarette I need
Who to tell me I am poor?
The President? The Senator? This economy?
& what in the hell for?
There's no place to go so no fear
When you're ready to look- I'll be here.
